Magro Brothers have appointed Wands Ltd as distributors for their Savina range of liqueurs. These products were launched recently at Nove in St Julians where guests could savour the special tastes of Nozzi, Laringina and Hanini and were also treated to cocktails made from the liqueurs.
The range of Savina liqueurs is the latest addition to this premium brand which gives its customers a truly Mediterranean experience for the five senses.
The liqueurs were inspired by traditional Gozitan recipes handed down from Nozzi, the grandmother of the present Magro brothers. One of the liqueurs is named in memory of this special lady.
Nozzi is an all-natural blend of fine whiskey, cream, caramel and Mediterranean herbs and spices. Traditionally this liqueur was mixed with a beaten egg to make the nutritious "flip" which parents used to give to their children to build up their strength.
Laringina is an orange-based liqueur with an alcohol content of 40 per cent and has a distinctive taste of Mediterranean orange peel. This liqueur is ideal for flambé cooking and it is also an excellent mix for cocktails.
Hanini is a delicate, carob-based digestive liqueur. This liqueur is named after MV Hanini, one of the ships owned by the Magro family, which was used for several decades to transport herbs, carobs and cereals across various ports in the Mediterranean to service the Gozitan commercial community.
Wands will be distributing these specialties to hotels, restaurants, liqueur shops and supermarkets and any other interested outlets around Malta. The liqueurs will also be stocked at the Wands Cash and Carry outlet in Qormi.
The Savina range includes an ever-expanding range of quality foods, crafts and music. There are a limited number of Savina outlets dotted around Malta and Gozo, as well as a franchise in Frankfurt and UK.
