Marsovin has launched the new vintage of the 1919 white and red wines. The wines are branded as 1919 as it was the year when the founder of Marsovin, Anthony Cassar, established his roots in the wine business. He was born in 1903, and at just 16 first operated under the company A&G Cassar, together with his brother George. Marsovin was then founded in 1955.

Marsovin said the concept of 1919 is to combine the culture of wine with art, creating a stronghold between Marsovin's and Maltese art. Every year a local artist is commissioned to create two paintings based on the theme of "The Culture of Wine". These paintings are used as the main feature on the labels of the 1919 white and red wines.

This is the third vintage which Marsovin has produced. The first vintage was painted by Debbie Caruana Dingli, the second by Kenneth Zammit Tabona, and the 2006 vintage is represented by Denise Borg Millo.

The 1919 wines were launched by Jeremy Cassar, director, Marsovin, and local artist Denise Borg Millo. Mr Cassar gave a speech explaining the concept of the wine, the types of grapes used and the characteristics of the wine.
