Joe Sammut's comments regarding immigrants and the bus service caused havoc within certain people of the media and NGOs. The comments were labelled as racist.

Dr Sammut's comments were not racist at all. He just pointed out what problem Maltese citizens are facing with bus service number 13. And said that bus 13 is being filled to capacity with the immigrants. He proposed another bus for the immigrants so that Maltese citizens and immigrants themselves won't find any problems with arriving late at work, school, appointment and so on. What's wrong with such a proposal? What makes Dr Sammut's proposal racist and xenophobic? And why all this chaos and panic with such factual comments?

It is pure nonsense to abuse the term racism. When talking about reality you have to name facts. However, when they hear facts certain people would want to make use such labels as racists and xenophobic, which, in this case, are completely extraneous to the point at issue. I think such people must face reality and accept reality if they are to pin- point a solution rather than act like toddlers.
