It is very sad that I have to feature this message repeatedly. One of the many objectives of this column is to encourage consumers to stand up and fight for their rights when dealing with traders and suppliers who do not respect consumers' rights.
Over the years this column has proved to be a very effective tool when dealing with rogue traders. As explained in our terms and conditions, consumers must chase the progress of their cases with the respective suppliers while in the process copying me in.
All letters of complaint and complainants' chasers are followed by my request/s to suppliers for their comments. In the process we remind them that the case is subject to publication.
However, many consumers do not bother to read our terms and conditions printed in every column and wrongly assume that all they have to do is write to me or send me an e-mail and leave it all to me.
Please read our terms and conditions and abide by them. A particular condition stipulates that we do not accept complaints by e-mail. Indeed the opening sentence in our terms and conditions featured in this and every column reads:
"Please send your letter in English by ordinary mail (not by e-mail) preferably typed". However we still receive letters of complaint by e-mail.
Therefore, if you are referring your case to this column, please read and abide by the terms and conditions carried in every column.
