Two men were fined Lm12,888 between them for failing to pay value added tax after having been ordered to do so by the courts.

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli fined Joseph Pace, 68, of Sliema Lm6,096 and Joseph Lauri, 72, of Swieqi Lm6,792 after they pleaded guilty.

Meanwhile, Paul Dimech, 46, of Hamrun was fined Lm175 for not issuing a receipt and George Debono, 54, of Marsascala was fined Lm150 for not keeping a receipt journal.

Police Inspector Alex Miruzzi prosecuted.
