The promoters of 118 Wines have teamed up with several wine producers to offer three-hour wine tours around a number of wine estates and cellars.

The tour bus takes groups of between 15 to 20 wine lovers to various estates, cellars and wine bars every week. Guests will not only see how wine is made but also taste some of Malta's most prestigious wines.

Every 118 Wines tour ends with a food and wine matching session.

Guests will benefit from special prices on 118 Wines accessories, wines and wine books at the end of the tour.

"Although the wine tours are attracting a good number of tourists, we are certain that locals will be interested in joining the tours", Brainbox director Sabrina Mulligan said.

From its beginnings as a slot on a lifestyle television programme produced by Brainbox, 118 has revolutionised the local wine scene, the organisers said.

The weekly TV show hosted by John Demanuele has led to the organisation of 118 Wines, a wine club with over 700 members. Members are regularly invited to wine tasting events, launches, seminars and master classes, as well as food and wine matching sessions.

This year, 118 launched its quarterly magazine 118 Wines distributed with The Times, and its 118 Wine tours abroad.
