Etienne Barbara has finally completed his protracted move to Sliema Wanderers after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal yesterday.
The 25-year-old became the Wanderers' fourth signing of the close season following the capture of Matthew Bartolo, Sharlon Pace and Ian Azzopardi.
"We are delighted to have finally sealed Barbara's transfer to Sliema Wanderers," president Robert Arrigo said yesterday.
"He has been on our wish list for the past three years and now we have finally got our man. He is a very talented player, everyone knows that."
Barbara, formerly of Birkirkara, was signed in time to be eligible for the Wanderers' UEFA Cup match against Bulgarians Litex Lovech tomorrow at Ta' Qali.
Arrigo also confirmed that the Wanderers will be giving a trial to two Serbian players, a midfielder and a forward, as they seek to engage another overseas player to replace Italian defender Mauro Di Lello.
