The joint marketing of Malta and Tunisia to attract long-haul tourists was among the subjects discussed by Tunisian Tourism Minister Tijani Haddad and his counterpart Francis Zammit Dimech.

The campaign would target tourists from China, India and the US and would be achieved through the collaboration of tour operators, the government said.

The Tunisian minister and his delegation yesterday called on Dr Zammit Dimech, where the 40-year diplomatic relations between the two countries were discussed.

Among the recommendations was the continuing promotion in the yachting and cruise liner sector, the training and exchange of experts, the marketing and development of tourism and the promotion of investment in tourist sectors.

The Tunisian minister leaves today.
