Figures given in Parliament yesterday show that out of 131,646 salaried workers, only 4,283 declared an income of over Lm10,000, last year, according to Labour Force Survey datasets.

There were 30,656 who said they earned less than Lm4,000; 34,779 who had an income between Lm4,000 and Lm5,000; 27,217 with an income between Lm6,001 and Lm7,000; 11,706 between Lm7,001 and Lm8,000; 4,814 between Lm8,001 and Lm9,00 and 3,849 between Lm 9,001 and Lm10,000.

Replying to a parliamentary question by Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, the Prime Minister said 2,231 workers had a salary of between Lm10,001 and Lm12,000; 967 had between Lm12,001 and Lm14,000 and 1,085 earned over Lm14,001.
