Charity marathon has good reason to smile

A total of Lm101,614 (€236,696.94) was raised during the 60-hour marathon Ohloq Tbissima held over the weekend.

The marathon, held at St Joseph's Home, in Sta Venera, raised money for the Missionary Society of St Paul in Peru, Pakistan, the Philippines and Malta and for evangelisation.

Speaking at the end of the marathon, Centru Animazzjoni Missjunarja director Louis Mallia said helping those in need was a great deed which everyone should appreciate. The money collected, he said, would be used to ease the hardship of many people the society worked with, locally and abroad.

Anyone still wishing to donate money can still do so until the end of the month by calling 5004 9853 to donate Lm3 (€6.99), 5004 9855 for Lm5 (€11.65), 5004 9850 for Lm10 (€23.29) or send an SMS on 5061 8070 to donate Lm2 (€4.66).
