A new cultural agreement between Italy and Malta is due to be signed shortly, according to Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.
The minister was speaking prior to a concert by the Banda Musicale della Polizia Di Stato at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta, marking the 40th anniversary of the signing of the first cultural agreement between the two countries.
The concert was conducted by Maurizio Billi.
The first agreement had been signed by Amintore Fanfani, Italian Foreign Minister, and Gorg Borg Olivier, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
