Dr Kris Busietta, legal counsel for former ADT employees Roderick Galea and Jason Buttigieg, said yesterday that his clients had never appealed from a Magistrates' Court decision after they filed a guilty plea.

It was only the Attorney General who had appealed, when he sought a prison sentence. The Appeals Court confirmed the judgment of the First Court.

Dr Busietta was reacting to a letter by the ADT board to the Prime Minister, issued last Friday.

In its letter to Dr Gonzi, the ADT board insisted that at no time did it change or consider changing its decision to sack the two employees convicted of bribery.
