After the sad news of the loss of 700 jobs in the textile industry the Labour party media went into overdrive, criticising the government that enough was not being done, and implying that there were solutions for such situations if the country was administered by a Labour government.

I recall a similar situation during the Labour administration under Dr Alfred Sant: the Malta Shipbuilding was constructing timber carriers at a loss, and Dr Sant was trying to stop this haemorrhage of taxpayers' money. One of his proposals was hiring cheap skilled labour from South Korea.

Incidentally, it was under a Labour administration that around 600 employees were fired from Malta Shipbuilding.

As a responsible voter I can judge more from actions than from the present promises of a tal-Farfett party which promises everything to everybody.
