Don't bring Apartheid to Malta (2)
I have been following the Hal Far bus debate, if it can be called a debate, on what Mr J.M. Sammut said in parliament. I feel he is being unjustly criticised by the local media and some of our politically correct brigade. I found his comments reasonable.
I have been following the Hal Far bus debate, if it can be called a debate, on what Mr J.M. Sammut said in parliament.
I feel he is being unjustly criticised by the local media and some of our politically correct brigade. I found his comments reasonable. Readers should judge what he said, not what the media reported he said.
Readers can hear for themselves what he said by visiting the House of Representatives Website and downloading the debate (546) from http://www.parliament.gov.mt/information/Parliament%20Audio%20Files/546%2003-07-2007%201800hrs.mp3.
The speech is the last 10 minutes of the sitting. Alternatively key in www.parliament.gov.mt and select sitting 546. We need people like Mr Sammut in parliament who are not afraid to speak out on behalf of their constituents.
If we let our politically correct columnists have their way, we will soon be forced to call Christmas Winterfest, Ba Ba Black Sheep, Ba Ba Rainbow Sheep and be made to remove our crucifixes or religious statues, as these may offend or frighten immigrants.
In fact it has already happened. One of the columnists did try to get the authorities to remove a statue from St Venera a few years back on the grounds that it scared immigrants.
