St Cecilia's Kindergartens in Attard and Tarxien recently ended their 13th school year with summer term concerts that were the highlights of the year.

The schoolchildren, aged between 18 months and five years, rehearsed regularly throughout the year with their teachers and music teacher, and excitement had been building up as the concert date approached.

During the concerts, held at the Tarxien school, the youngest children sang If you're happy and you know it, the three and four-year-olds presented little shows developing a topic and sang various songs while the Tarxien and Attard five-year-olds presented short musical plays of Jack and the Bean Stalk and Little Red Riding Hood respectively.

Two other activities were organised towards the scholastic year's end. Sports Day was held at St Edward's College grounds where every participant received a gold medal. And a Thanksgiving Mass and children's blessing was celebrated in the school gardens by Attard parish priest Fr Noel Vassallo and Mgr Alfred Vella.

The kindergartens' activities continue with a Summer School in gentle preparation for the next scholastic year.
