Car-jacking trick in Malta

An e-mail message on "car-jacking" is currently circulating. I received it and, irrespective of whether it is a scam or not, I dare say it is worth featuring, especially for car owners. These are a few excerpts:

The car-jacking trick is now in Malta. Heads up everyone! Please keep this circulating.

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into reverse. You check your back through the rear view mirror to back out of the parking space. You notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window, blocking your view. You are curious and somewhat annoyed. You put the car in neutral, open the door and get out to remove the paper obstructing your view.

As you reach the back of your car the carjackers strike. They come from nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off.

Guess what, ladies?

Your handbag is in the car, including purse and bank cards. Your shopping is in the car too. The thieves have your car, your home address, your money, and your house keys. Your home and your whole identity are compromised!

Remember - If you see a piece of paper stuck to your rear window - put car in gear and drive away.

Remove the paper later and be thankful you read this message. Forward this to friends and family, especially women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do not want this to fall into the wrong hands. Please keep this going.
