The Malta Union of Teachers will on Monday send an official letter to the education authorities demanding an official inquiry into claims of harassment by teachers in a number of schools.
Almost all teachers working in up to half a dozen schools complained they were subjected to harassment by the head of school or assistant head.
The MUT will be asking the Education Division to appoint an independent group of people to conduct the inquiry.
Union president John Bencini said a previous investigation carried out by the division was not fruitful, with the division saying that teachers and their superiors were to blame.
The harassment claims revolve around the performance management programme, which takes place at the end of the scholastic year.
Mr Bencini said teachers were not being shown their superior's comments or given enough time to respond.
