An exhibition on Portuguese Cartography And Historical Links Between Portugal And Malta has been inaugurated at Middlesea House, in Floriana, by President Eddie Fenech Adami.
The exhibits were loaned by Albert Ganado, an expert on Maltese cartography and Melitensia.
The President referred to the priority objectives of the Portuguese EU presidency, namely the reform of the treaties, preparations for the new cycle of the Lisbon Strategy, the enforcement of a global approach on migration while improving the protection of the Union's external borders, and focus on the Mediterranean and Africa.
Portuguese Ambassador Antonio Augusto Russo Dias said the exhibition is the first of a number of events that will mark Portugal's presidency of the EU.
The display is open Monday to Friday till the end of the month between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entrance is free.
