I was really taken aback when I went to buy cinema tickets for the much awaited film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and was told that the film's rating board have decided, at the last minute, to change the rating from PG13 (all over the world) to age 12 and upwards.

I have a nine-year-old child who is extremely disappointed that she cannot come to watch this movie with us.

To tell you the truth, I feel offended about this because, yes, it is the duty of the board (or whoever) to rate the film as they deem fit, but, with all due respect, it is ultimately our responsibility as parents to decide whether our children should watch a movie or not.

Can someone please explain to me how a story for children full of fantasy and magic like Harry Potter is rated as a film for grown ups and a movie about a robbery, namely Oceans 13, is suitable for kids?

I feel that this is a real shame because it will only lead to a decline in attendance at the cinema and an increase in piracy.
