Social workers in government departments have been ordered by the Union Haddiema Maghqudin to go slow.

UHM government workers' section secretary Mario Sacco said the dispute revolves around the sectoral agreement which still differentiates between social workers who have a degree and those who are in possession of a diploma.

He explained that the Social Work Act lays down that once a social worker is in possession of a warrant, there should be no discrimination over qualifications.

An industrial dispute was registered three weeks ago.
