A man was yesterday charged with defrauding several companies of over Lm1,000 when he made use of a stolen cheque book.

Richard Flattley pleaded not guilty to forging the cheques and making malicious use of a cheque book in 2005.

Police Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.

Lawyers Roberto Montalto and José Herrera were defence counsel.
