Last Friday, the Attard local council held the first edition of Lejl Ghat-Tard. This was Attard's own Notte Bianca.

Although on a much smaller scale this production proved to be of a great success. The organisers managed to create four venues of different music (pop, jazz, classical and band) however the evening also featured street performers, local choirs, a fashion show and people in traditional costumes, together with the opening for visitors of the war shelter, the train museum, the church museum, complemented also by a variety of local crafts, paintings and wine tasting. People also enjoyed the atmosphere created, over a glass of wine and fantastic food offered by Attard's local catering establishments.

A special thank you goes to all the council for organising such an event. However, credit must be given to the main organisers and councillors Charlo' Bonnici (vice mayor), Marco Spiteri, Stefan Cordina and John Bonnici together with the council's staff and the cultural sub committee. One person who definitely gave a big contribution, was Paul Azzopardi, so a big thank you to him as well.

However one must not forget the people who attended the function (in their thousands) who also contributed to this great success. May I also extend my thank you to the Attard parish, especially to Tony Borg for giving tremendous help in organising this event.

We hope that this activity will become an annual event.
