Hamrun Spartans completed their second signing of the close season with the capture of Nigerian defender Precious Monye.

The 32-year-old defender was a free agent after his former club, Birkirkara, decided not to retain his services at the end of last season.

Yesterday evening Monye held talks with the Spartans and agreed personal terms with the Division One champions, putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.

At Hamrun he will join his fellow-countryman Alfred Effiong who signed for the newly-promoted side last month.
