The light breeze blowing into Ghadira Bay at the Adira Sailing Club provided a relaxing atmosphere for a number of journalists and other guests, hosted by Gasan Enterprises Ltd.

David Gasan, managing director of Gasan Enterprises Ltd., representatives of Capelli, said the range provided a level of perfection attained through the Italian company's highly motivated and competent team of seasoned boat building professionals, who have developed a remarkable team spirit and an uncompromising dedication to quality over the years.

"One of the outstanding features of Capelli boats and Ribs is the quality of their finishing and their stability," Mr Gasan said. "The Capelli range fits very nicely with our Yamaha engines and we are selling these as a package.

"We have some stock just in which are available right away or otherwise the model of your choice can be ordered and delivered in a few weeks."

The range on display on land and in the water included the Tempest 770 top-line, Tempest 625 work-line, Tempest 470 work-line, Tempest 570 top-line, Tempest 505 easy-line and the Cap18 boat.

Depending on the model, these can be ordered with a wide range of options, such as sundeck-cushions, shower, Grp steering bench, ladder, ski bar, boat cover, console cover and sunshade arch.

The finest resins, marine plywood, solid teak, stainless steel, Neoprene Hypalon (Pennel and Flipo) are just few of the high-quality products used in the manufacture of the Capelli boats.

Established in 1974, the Capelli Boatyard at Spinadesco (Cremona, Northern Italy) has since become one of the leading manufacturers of small- to medium-sized boats. It was Davide Capelli's love for the River Po, together with his limitless creativity that gave him the impetus to set up a new business.

He started out by building flat-keel riverboats out of glass fibre, and was soon joined by his young son, Umberto, who concentrated on designing and building new types of canoes for use in competitions.

The turning point came at the Genoa Boat Show in 1986, when the Capelli Boatyard unveiled the first 4.7-metre Fisherman, which was rapturously received. In 1992, the company diversified to produce a line of glass fibre-keel, inflatable boats, which have gone on to win a substantial share of the market. The boatyard currently manufactures 12 models of glass fibre boat and 21 different inflatable boats.
