Malta's new arms law has generated much interest in EU countries, where it is hailed as a 'sensible' piece of legislation. The Association of Maltese Arms Collectors and Shooters (AMACS) is widely acknowledged to have been the driving force behind the Act's implementation. One German manufacturing concern has shown its appreciation to AMACS members in a truly original way. Carl Walther GmbH will shortly be producing a limited-edition "Malta Arms Act 2005 Commemorative" P99 pistol which will be exclusively offered to AMACS members only.
This model is famous enough in its standard versions; dubbed "the first pistol for the next century" when launched in 1999, this modern hand gun is now the standard side arm of several law enforcement agencies and military units world-wide. It was even adopted by MI6 agent 007 James Bond!
The commemorative issue P99 will feature a slide engraved with the words "Malta Arms Act 2005 Commemorative" as well as the unique AMACS membership number of the person ordering the pistol. Each engraved pistol is supplied in a Delux case and comes complete with a Walther certificate. Carl Walther GmbH was set up in 1886. Tradition has shaped the firm and Walther has had a hand in shaping history.
The ingenuity and quality of its products are appreciated worldwide. Carl Walther GmbH are represented locally by Lock, Stock & Barrel, Phoenix Building, St Venera.
