The European Institute of Education (EIE) has launched the IUKB MBA, an MBA programme through the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch (IUKB), Switzerland. The Malta centre will offer an opportunity for further education with specialisations in the MBA field.
The event was also special because KNZ (Kunsill Nazzjonali taz-Zghazagh) and EIE teamed up to launch an MBA scholarship contest open for graduate youths who wish to continue developing their business skills by enrolling in this MBA.
The successful participant will be awarded a scholarship worth Lm4,700, which will cover all costs of the lecture-based MBA.
Antonello Cappitta, managing director at EIE, said "It is a pleasure for us to announce today that we are now able to offer another learning opportunity to the Maltese citizens and to foreigners who are choosing Malta as their preferred destination for learning.
"We are honoured to offer the MBA of the University Institute Kurt Bösch, which is recognised by the Swiss and Maltese governments. The MBA programme has three important specialisations such as finance banking, tourism and business."
Moreover, he added, "a scholarship will be awarded to a successful person, to pursue the IUKB MBA and will cover all the costs of the course. This is another initiative to encourage Maltese youths, and tell them that education is at their hands.
"This makes lifelong learning more accessible to them and will instil their 'desire' to continue developing their skills hand in hand with other scholarships already offered."
On her part, Alessia Zammit, president for KNZ said: "The National Council for Youths believes that education is essential for the development of personhood and many youths today acknowledge the importance of lifelong learning.
"With this aim, KNZ and EIE signed a collaboration agreement whereby they are given the possibility to acquire an MBA scholarship so as graduates continue to develop their entrepreneurial skills.
"The contest for the scholarship will be based on an activity that prospective applicants will be organising a project for other youths in the sports and culture field, being the two focus aspects that the KNZ has chosen this year."
