Motorists who leave their car at the MCP car park in Floriana can no longer hop on the free shuttle service to Valletta.

The service was discontinued as from Monday, MCP director Saviour Ellul told The Times.

He said the service was stopped for "commercial reasons", adding that he had no intention to divulge these to a newspaper.

Monday was also the day when the Valletta electric cab service started charging 45c for any journey within Valletta.

CT Park Ltd chairman Kenneth De Martino said the cab service also operates from the MCP car park.
