Tomorrow will see the 12th edition of the annual national Cinema Day in Malta and Gozo. This day of movie watching has been organised by KRS Film Distributors since its inception in 1996. Cinemas in Malta will exhibit films from 9.30 a.m. until late night at a reduced price of admission of Lm1.30 per person. Gozo will have afternoon and evening performances only.

There is a wide variety of films on offer, from the Johnny Depp vehicle Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End, through the sci-fi horror flick 28 Weeks Later, to the action comic book movie SpiderMan 3.

There is a fair amount of comedy on offer with the latest animated Shrek movie Shrek The Third, plus Are We Done Yet with Ice Cube, plus Rowan Atkinson in the extremely popular Mr Bean's Holiday. Dramas include Black Snake Moan with Samuel L. Jackson in the lead, Oceans's Thirteen with George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Fracture with Anthony Hopkins and Shooter starring Mark Wahlberg and Danny Glover. Action movies include the amazing largely computer-generated 300 and Fantastic Four - The Rise Of The Silver Surfer. There are even gentler movies on offer like The Painted Veil, with Edward Norton and Naomi Watts and Bridge To Terabithia.

The cinemas involved are the Eden Cinemas in St Julian's, the Empire Cinema Complex in Bugibba, the Embassy Complex in Valletta and the New Sun City Cine Palais in Marsascala. In Gozo films will be shown at the Citadel Cinemas in Victoria.
