Federer gets walkover into QFs

Roger Federer will get a free ride into the quarter-finals of Wimbledon after his opponent Tommy Haas withdrew with an abdominal muscle strain. The four-times champion was due to face the German in the third match today but will now enjoy a rest day.

Haas had reached the last 16 in Wimbledon for the first time.

Federer is now not scheduled to play again until Wednesday when he will face either Juan Carlos Ferrero or Janko Tipsarevic.

Meanwhile, Nikolay Davydenko has joined his Russian Davis Cup team-mate Marat Safin in criticising the way Wimbledon is run.

"Wimbledon is the world's most boring tournament," Davydenko said.

"There's hardly anything to do apart from tennis. You constantly find yourself yawning, there's no entertainment here."

Safin was also highly critical of Wimbledon, complaining about the food prices and the security before he was knocked out by Federer in the third round on Friday.
