Fellow of UK's Public Health Faculty

Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Francis Agius attended the UK's Faculty of Public Health 2007 annual conference entitled Making Public Health Work in Eastbourne, UK.

Among the many themes being discussed are a smoke-free society, the impact of economics on health, tackling child health obesity, initiatives towards achieving sustainable development and inequalities in health.

During the conference, Dr Agius will be officially admitted as a new Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (UK). He had obtained his membership in 1999, defending his thesis on Health Inequities In Malta And The Eradication Of Poliomyelitis In Malta.

Dr Agius graduated as Doctor of Medicine from the University of Malta in 1984 and obtained his Master of Science from the University of Wales in 1987.
