Social workers call for talks

The Maltese Association of Social Workers has noted with regret the industrial action in various social work-related government departments and called for further negotiations.

The association also insisted against discrimination between social workers with different qualifications. MASW said this is being done in the light of the Social Work Profession Act, legislated by Parliament more than two years ago.

MASW hoped that this issue was resolved quickly to avoid causing unnecessary inconvenience to people who require the social work services.
