'Roamer' (The Sunday Times, June 17) stated that Siggiewi council has "perversely removed the bring in sites". This is not the case.

It must be underlined that the bring-in sites have been installed for over two years, and have remained operational ever since. It is equally significant to point out that Siggiewi council has consistently endorsed Government's national waste management strategy.

This year we will also be stepping up our efforts to ensure that the waste generated during the village feast today is separated at source. We have identified a number of strategic points to facilitate the process.

It is rather worrying to gather the contrary in 'Roamer's Column' as rarely does 'Roamer' not get his facts right. Perhaps 'Roamer' could spell out what led to this perception.
