Recently promoted Premier League club Birmingham City said yesterday that its key shareholders had agreed to sell a 30 per cent stake in the club to Hong Kong listed Grandtop International Holdings.

The club said David Sullivan and brothers David and Richard Gold, had sold 14.8 per cent stakes, while Karren Brady and Roger Bannister had also sold small stakes.

The arrangement makes Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung the largest individual shareholder, but does not put him in total control of the club.
