A 28-year-old man was yesterday charged with the possession of heroin with the intent to sell it and breaching bail conditions.

Magistrate Silvio Meli heard Elton Brincat, of Hamrun, plead not guilty to the possession of the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for his personal use on and before Monday. He was also charged with breaching bail conditions.Mr Brincat was remanded in police custody and Magistrate Meli recommended that he start a drug rehabilitation programme while in custody.

Police Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted.
