Bryan Adams is set to turn up the heat by a few degrees tonight and pump over 18,000 people with enough adrenaline to dance to two hours of his greatest hits at the Luxol Grounds, St Andrew's.

"This is potentially the biggest concert ever," said Nigel Camilleri, NnG Promotions director, without revealing how many tickets have been snapped up.

Sting's concert last summer had attracted about 18,000 people and tonight's show has surpassed that figure.

Dr Camilleri said the Canadian rock star arrives this afternoon and flies out to Cyprus straight after the concert to play there tomorrow, as part of his worldwide Anthology tour.

Contacted yesterday, Dr Camilleri said the main stage had been set up width-wise, with a smaller second stage erected bang in the centre of the grounds. Much to the delight of his screaming fans, Bryan Adams will be walking right through the crowd from one stage to the next, giving people at the back the chance to see him play up close and personal.

Another anticipated highlight, which the rock star has been repeating on his tour, is when he randomly picks up a girl from the crowd to join him in singing Mel C's part of When You're Gone.

Bryan Adams will be delighting the crowd with his smash hits from the ultra-romantic (Everything I Do) I Do It For You to the rock anthem Summer Of '69, via the chart-topping All For Love. Most of his songs have withstood the test of time spanning a number of generations and many are those who can sing along to 18 Till I Die or Can't Stop This Thing We Started.

The energetic, charismatic singer is well known for his concerts during which, guitar in hand, he sings his own up-tempo pop/rock songs and ballads, backed by a tight band.

Doors open at 6.30 p.m. with the backing band, Winter Moods, taking to the stage at 7.30 p.m. Bryan Adams will kick off his set at about 8.45 p.m.

A few tickets are still available from Exotique outlets, Agenda Bookshops, and News Kiosk.
