A 55-year-old man was yesterday charged with defiling a 14-year-old Tunisian girl on Sunday.

Carmelo Sant, of St Paul's Bay, pleaded not guilty to the defilement and violent indecent assault of the girl in St Paul's Bay. He was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Carmelo Abdilla prosecuted. Lawyer Richard Sladden appeared for Mr Sant.
