Naxxar name Leonard Farrugia as coach

Former Valletta and Malta striker Leonard Farrugia has been appointed coach of Naxxar Lions, the Division Two club said in a short statement.

The experienced Farrugia had been in charge of Kirkop United for several years and also worked for some time as coach within the Malta FA technical sector.

Farrugia will now invest his energies into trying to get Naxxar Lions back into Division One after they were relegated last season.

Meanwhile, Warren Muscat has taken over as coach of Gudja United. Last season, Muscat assisted former coach Jason Bartolo with the running of the senior team and was also in charge of Gudja's U-19 and U-16 squads.
