Mass is being said in each state in Australia, home to many Maltese-Australians, in honour of St Gorg Preca, who was canonised recently.

While Mass has already been celebrated in many parishes, others will be said in the following areas:

• Wollongong, New South Wales, on Saturday at 6 p.m., celebrated by Bishop Peter Ingham at St Francis of Assisi church;

• Melbourne, on July 22 at 3 p.m., celebrated by Bishop Joseph Grech at St Patrick's Cathedral;

• Adelaide, on July 27, at 7 p.m., celebrated by Archbishop Philip Wilson at St Francis Xavier Cathedral; and

• Brisbane, on September 3, at 7.30 p.m. celebrated by Archbishop John Bathersby at St Anthony's church, Alexandra Hills.
