The Victoria Hotel has just been awarded the Malta Tourism Authority's Eco-Certification after it complied with almost 130 criteria designed to ensure improved environmental performance.

Three years ago the hotel introduced measures for environmental betterment resulting in energy saving and a reduction in environmentally destructive wastage, said general manager Claire Xuereb.

To participate in the MTA's Eco-Certification Scheme, hotels must comply with a number of criteria all aimed at improving the hotels' environmental performance and increasing environmental awareness amongst employees.
