A man who last week was convicted for repeatedly threatening to kill his wife was yesterday arraigned again on the same charges.
The man pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill his wife, using telecommunication equipment to commit the crime and relapsing on Saturday and Sunday.
Last week, the man was given a three-month jail term suspended for two years after he admitted to threatening to kill his spouse, take their daughter away from her and burn down their matrimonial home. During yesterday's arraignment, Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani heard how the man and his wife worked in separate departments at the same factory.
The Magistrate granted him bail on condition he does not approach his wife and bound him by a Lm200 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm800.
Names are not being published to protect the identities of the wife and daughter.
Police Inspector Walter Spiteri prosecuted.
Lawyer Robert Abela appeared for the accused.
