Pedestrian crossing badly needed

The residents of St Patrick Street, Birzebbuga, have for years been waiting for a pedestrian crossing to be installed in the vicinity of the bocci club.

This stretch of road is very busy with traffic which makes it dangerous for anybody to cross, especially during the summer months when hundreds of families come to Birzebbuga to enjoy the sea.

A fatal accident has already taken place some time ago when an elderly man was crossing the road and was hit by a motorcycle. Some drivers speed by as if they were on a race track!

We appeal to whoever is responsible - central government, the ADT or the local council - to please take action before someone else gets hurt.

Surely, it would not cost much. I am sure a solution can be found.
