'Trees and the Environment' is the art exhibition in aid of the 34U (Tree for You) campaign. Over 30 works by 20 artists are being exhibited at St James Cavalier, Valletta, until July 1.

The event, inaugurated by Minister for Rural Affairs and the Environment George Pullicino, is sponsored by Bank of Valletta, Camilleri Wines and St James Cavalier. It opens from daily and entrance is free.

Artists donated their works to the ministry to show their solidarity and their bid to increase the density of trees in the environment, encouraging the awareness on the importance of trees in our lives. Proceeds from the sale of these works will go to the Vandalised Trees at Mellieha fund.

The 34U campaign enables you to commemorate an important event, identifying the tree by a wooden tag attached, bearing the name of a person, including also a photo commemorating the event.

Those who would like to contribute towards the Vandalised Trees at Mellieha can deposit their contribution in one of these accounts: HSBC, 033 221 458 001; and BOV, 101 967 909 84; or by sending an sms to 5061 7375 (Lm1), 5061 8079 (Lm2) and 5061 9219 (Lm5).
