• An agrarian exhibition, organised by the local council, opens on Archpriest Camilleri Square, Nadur, today at 8 a.m. Minister Giovanna Debono and mayor Chris Said present mementoes to exhibitors at 10.30 a.m.

• Xewkija celebrates the feast of St John the Baptist with a pontifical Mass led by Bishop Mario Grech at 8.15 a.m. Mro Colin Attard directs the orchestra. The Vox Clamantis will participate. St Michael's Band of Zabbar will play marches at 11, while the Precursor Band plays marches at 6.15 p.m. Mgr Joseph Bezzina leads a solemn concelebrated Mass at 6.30 p.m. The procession, accompanied by the Precursor Band, starts at 7.45 p.m. and ends at 10.30. The Mnarja Band gives a concert on St John the Baptist Square at 8.30 p.m. The celebrations will be aired on Precursor Community Radio (99.3 FM) and streamed at www.radjuprekursur.com.

• The Gozo Sailing Club is organising another series of races for lasers at Qbajjar Bay, Gozo, this afternoon. Registration is at 1; races, sponsored by Arkadia Gozo, start at 2.30.

• The Mnarja Band is holding a concert on Archpriest Camilleri Square, Nadur, tomorrow at 9 p.m. Parish archpriest Mgr Salv. Muscat blesses the new statue representing the presentation of the ministry to St Peter and St Paul.

• A prayer meeting, part of the Campaign for a Morally Healthy Environment, organised annually by the Catholic Action in Gozo, will be held on Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Xlendi. There will be Eucharistic Adoration at 6.30 p.m. followed by Mass.

• To mark 40 years since Nadur parish church was given minor basilica status, Bishop Emeritus Nikol Cauchi leads a solemn pontifical, thanksgiving Mass on Tuesday at 7.15 p.m. The celebrations continue on Wednesday with performances by the Santa Margerita, San Girgor, St Joseph and Mnarja bands from 9.30 p.m. to midnight. Fireworks will be let off. The pontifical translation will be led by Bishop Grech on Thursday at 6.30 p.m. Mgr Salv. Muscat leads vespers afterwards. The Mnarja, La Stella and Victory bands play marches between 9 p.m. and 12.30 a.m. On Friday, the solemn liturgical feast of St Peter and St Paul, Bishop Grech leads a concelebrated pontifical Mass at 9 a.m. The presentation of the 'Generous Heart' award will also be held. The De Rohan and La Vittoria Bands will play popular marches at 11.30 a.m. Mgr Salv. Muscat leads pontifical vespers at 6.30 p.m. The procession, led by Mgr Muscat and accompanied by the Mnarja Band, begins at 8 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. The St Catherine and Precursor Bands will also participate. The feast will be broadcast on Net TV and on Luminaria Community Radio (106.9 FM).

• The Royal British Legion is holding English language courses at the Ninu Cremona Boys' Lyceum, Victoria, on Thursday mornings from July 12 for Year 1 to 6 students and first- to fifth-formers. For details and registration call 2133-8780 or 21563420.
