Obituary
AZZOPARDI. On June 21, at St. Luke's Hospital, VINCENT, proprietor of Golden Eagle Stationers (Mosta), residing at San Gwann, aged 56, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Deeply mourned by his wife Rita, sons Robert, Mark and David, his mother Iris, his uncle Joe and wife Jessie, his mother-in-law Marianna, in-laws, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said today, at 9 a.m., at San Gwann parish church, followed by inter-ment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
DIAPER. Peacefully, after a brief illness, on June 12, in Portsmouth, England, EDWINA DORIS LOUISE, aged 82. Born in Portsmouth on June 10, 1925, Edwina trained at Salisbury Teachers' College after the war and later graduated from Queen's University (BA & M.Ed.). World traveller, cat-lover, and keen gardener, she had a long and eclectic career as a teacher, first in England, then in Ottawa, at various schools in the Kingston area, as Education Officer at the Prison for Women, and overseas in Zambia, in London, as well as in Nigeria and Lesotho. Edwina is survived by Dennis, her husband of 58 years; her children Oriel (George MacLennan) in Halifax, Megan (David Campbell) in Kingston, Charles (Carol Parkin) in Glasgow and Mark (Birgit Eggers) in Berlin; her granddaughters Georgia Campbell, Charlotte Eggers, and Emilia Eggers; and her nephew the Rev. Clive Clapson (Katie Clapson) and her great-nieces Lucy Clapson and Cecilia Clapson in Scotland. She was predeceased by infant twin grandsons Benjamin and Daniel Campbell in 1985.
A memorial service and interment will take place at noon on July 19 at the church of the Resurrection in Drayton, Portsmouth, England, with a reception to follow. In Edwina's remembrance, donations may be made to the Anglican Chaplaincy, St Paul's Pro-Cathedral (Organ Fund), Independence Square, Valletta.
GALEA. On June 22, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, EVELYN (Vellina), passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Mary widow of Anthony Theuma, her brother Lino and his wife Marion, her sisters-in-law Imelda widow of Paul, Sally widow of Vincent, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, on Monday, June 25 at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

GALEA. On June 21, at Casa Leone XIII, LINA, at the venerable age of 97, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, leaving to mourn her loss her sister Josephine, her nephews and nieces Rosette Fenech, Christine and Joe, Edgar and Dora, Antoine, Miriam, wife of Ivan Pace, Tony and wife Anna, Raimond and wife Joan, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Casa Leone XIII today at 2 p.m. for St Gregory parish church, Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Salesians of Don Bosco, Sliema would be appreciated.
Lord grant her eternal rest.

Art Exhibition
The sixth National Art Competition and Exhibition, organised by the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce opens on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Marchese Scicluna Hall, at the Trade Fair Grounds in Naxxar and run till July 8.
In all, 126 artists will take part with 197 works.
Australian Citizenship
The Emigrants' Commission is inviting all those people who gave up their Australian citizenship for a Maltese one to attend one of three meetings on how to regain the citizenship at Dar l-Emigrant, Misrah Kastilja, Valletta. The meetings are planned for Monday at 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. and Thursday at 11 a.m.
First Aid Course
The Red Cross will hold a course in basic first aid on July 4, 6, 11 and 13 from 5.30 to 9 p.m. at 104 St Ursula Street, Valletta.

The University Gozo Centre is holding a photo exhibition to mark the 15th anniversary of its foundation. The display, which will run until July 3, is being held at the Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria.
Feast Of Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart In Sliema
The feast of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is being celebrated in Sliema on Sunday, July 1. During the week festive band marches will be performed by various bands, including St Catherine of Zurrieq; St Gaetano of Hamrun; St Joseph of Hamrun and St Michael of Zabbar.
The Sliema Band will perform its celebration marches on Friday evening and Sunday morning. On Saturday, June 30, the Sliema Band will first march with the La Valette Band to the Strand where at 9.30 p.m. it will perform a vocal and musical programme with the participation of soprano Claire Caruana, Ludwig Galea and tenors Andrew Sapiano, Brian Cefai and Joseph Aquilina under the direction of Mro Ronnie Debattista.
The programme's climax will be the performance of Von Suppe's Light Cavalry complemented by a synchronised grand fireworks display - the first-ever synchronisation spectacle of live music and colourful fireworks to be performed in Sliema.
On Sunday, July 1, the procession with the statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart will start at 7.15 p.m. with the participation of the Maria Mater Gratiae band of Zabbar and De Rohan band of Zebbug.
The society's community radio RadioSacroCuorSliema FM94 is covering all the celebrations, streamed live on website www.sliemabandsacrocuor.com or www.radiosacrocuorsliema.com.
Net Television will also cover the main highlights of the feast.
