Among the big changes that will come by with a new government would be that governance would be clean, Labour Party leader Alfred Sant said.

Addressing a social event organised by the Labour Women at Swieqi yesterday, Dr Sant said the people are fed up seeing ministers shirk responsibilities, government projects taking longer than scheduled to be completed and millions of liri in taxpayers' money being spent without any control.

Dr Sant said that despite the lack of transparency, the people knew that the Prime Minister and ministers were responsible for what is taking place. Even staunch Nationalists want a change in the interest of the national good, Dr Sant said.

On its part, the MLP is insisting on the need that public affairs are conducted seriously and efficiently.

Dr Sant recalled that some time ago the party had proposed the removal of prescription cases of decisions taken by politicians who occupy important posts. The Nationalist Party, he added, did not accept the proposal. However, for the MLP the proposal still stood.
