The 50th edition of the International Fair of Malta will be held at the Trade Fair Grounds, in Naxxar between Wednesday and July 8.

As from next year, the fair will be held at Ta' Qali by the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC), Malta Trade Fair Corporation chairman Charles Busuttil said yesterday.

The fair will be open Mondays to Thursdays from 6 till 10.30 p.m. and Fridays to Sundays and public holidays from 6 till 11 p.m.

The fair will be moving to Ta' Qali because the lease at Naxxar is due to expire. There are 356 exhibitors apart from pavilions representing Libya, Italy, India, Germany, Slovakia, Malta, Gozo and the EU. Over 101,000 people visited last year.

A park and ride scheme using the Naxxar Boys Secondary School and the MCAST School at Targa Gap will facilitate parking. Visitors using these car parks will be ferried for free to the fair.

Holders of Kartanzjan will pay 20c instead of 40c to enter the fair grounds. Children under 10 get in for free.
