Getafe coach Bernd Schuster, who is tipped to take charge of Real Madrid after this weekend's King's Cup final, believes that David Beckham has made a mistake in deciding to continue his career in the United States.

The former Madrid midfielder believes Beckham's sparkling end-of-season form proves he is still capable of performing at the highest level, and doubts whether the MLS will pose a challenge to the former England captain.

"I think Beckham will be bored to tears in Los Angeles," Schuster told Cadena Ser.

"He could have played two or three more years in Madrid. It's a shame he's left."

Beckham's four-year spell at Madrid ended with the capital club clinching the league title following a 3-1 victory against Real Mallorca on Sunday.

The 32-year-old will begin his record-breaking five-year contract at LA Galaxy on July 1.
