Juventus defender Robert Kovac's mooted transfer to Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb has fallen through.
"Dinamo gave up efforts to bring (Kovac) to Zagreb as it could not meet his conditions," Dinamo's website said.
According to the Jutarnji List newspaper, the veteran 33-year-old had demanded six million euros ($8.06 million) for a three-year contract, but the banks did not want to provide guarantees for the payment of the full amount even in the case of an early termination of the contract due to a serious injury.
Yesterday, Juventus announced they have sold defender Federico Balzaretti to Fiorentina for 3.8 million euros ($5.1 million) despite some impressive displays last season in the Serie B.
The Turin club also said they had bought the full rights of Cristian Molinaro from co-owners Siena for 2.5 million euros.
The defender yesterday signed a five-year deal.
