At the moment work on Mill Street, Mosta is in an advanced stage and ADT are doing an excellent job. I am writing about a few metres' stretch of derelict rubble wall in the middle of this road, directly adjacent to the historic mill and corner with Triq il-Bdoti. It has become a rat infested, rubbish filled no man's land.

We spoke to the Mosta council who referred us to the contractor who said they are only doing the widening of the top end of Mill Street. We found out that this wall including the historic mill itself is government property leased to an individual and presently sub-let as a chicken farm.

According to the new Mepa rules regarding boundary walls, can someone from ADT, the Roads Department or the Mosta council take responsibility for these few metres of road that are a danger to life and limb? We, as well as hundreds of walkers and joggers, go past this eyesore everyday and always wonder if it will ever be solved once the road works in that area are finalised and filed as "done". Who is responsible and who will help?
