My Pet

The owner of our winning pet for June is Andrea Cini, 10, of Swieqi

I have a ginger cat called Dudu and a Labrador dog called Robin. It was hard to choose between them but I chose Robin. He is very sweet and friendly but he has one funny thing. He is blind. Robin might be blind but we ignore that. He is different from some other dogs. Some dogs growl when someone comes near but Robin goes to them as if they were me. If my friend would be scared of dogs when she comes to my house, she goes home loving Robin as if he were her own pet. There is no other dog I know who is as clumsy, funny and friendly as my pet Robin.

My pet is a female cat. Her name is Dixie and she is three years old. Her birthday is on June 21. Her fur is mostly white and grey with black patches. She is very playful and very alert, as she crawls to catch flying insects. I like to play with her, with a ball on a string or a cat's mouse. She likes to eat dried food and ham and drinks water or milk.

She was found on the doorstep, wet and dirty because the day before was a rainy day. She lives in the garage, in the internal yard and in the basement and she has her own cushion to rest on. Now she is part of our family and when we go somewhere we miss her very much. I take care of her and take her to the vet regularly. I love Dixie very much and cannot imagine living without her.
